SPACE Application 2017-18
SPACE, the SKIRVIN PASEO ARTIST CREATIVITY EXPOSITION, is a unique urban Artist in Residency program in which emerging visual artists who are members of the Paseo Arts Association can apply for a yearlong on-site residency in Oklahoma City’s premier downtown landmark hotel, the Skirvin Hilton.
The Skirvin’s Artist in Residency program offers a working art studio and gallery that is open to the public during established business hours as well as a $1,000 per month stipend and complimentary meals in the hotel to a selected artist each year.

5) SPACE artist selected & notified - August 31, 2017 by 5pm
6) 2017-2018 Residency Begins - October 1, 2017
PRICING AND SALES
Participating artists will price their work, which will be included with their submissions. All work must be for sale. The Paseo Arts Association will receive 10% commission on all works sold.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE, INSURANCE COVERAGE
Artist will operate as an independent contractor and not an employee of the Skirvin Hotel or of the Paseo Arts Association (PAA). Artist must secure his/her own general liability insurance and must agree that neither Skirvin nor the PAA shall be held responsible in case of injury, property damage, theft or other loss of property.
All candidates must be available for in person interviews. Finalists must be able to exhibit examples of their work during the interviewing process.

A brief 250 word proposal that outlines the artistic concept, relevance, and trajectory of the proposed body of work to be created during the residency.
Two written professional references from the regional art community supporting your application.

Documentation of any teaching experience.
Additionally, you may include catalogues, reviews, and other publications about your art.
